Tips for your First Day

1. Start your diet on a work day, or a day with many events planned. Weigh
yourself in the morning . Set reasonable short-term, and long-term goals.

2. Avoid eating after 8pm, you don't want food sitting in your stomach while
your sleeping.

3. Drink lots of water. It will help clean out your system.

4. Don't worry yourself about exercise. Although exercise will have to be an
important part of your overall diet, the key to the first day is adjusting
your food intake. So just concentrate on your eating habits for the day.

5. Take a stroll at the end of the day. Review what went well, and what
ways you can improve tomorrow.

is in the morning, just after you've waken up and gone to the bathroom, but
before any eating or drinking.

Get involved in the food buying for your family.Buy items that appeal to you
and be sure to read the labels. Look at calories as well as fat content. Eat
more "low fat" foods. This way, you're still eating the same amounts or more,
but there is less fat going into your body.


Avoid regular mayonnaise, use lowfat or fat free. Try mustard on all your
sandwiches instead of mayonnaise. Mustard has no fat and very little
calories, Mayo, on the other hand, is loaded with fat.

Spice it up. Use mustard or hot sauce to spice up diet foods. Both contain no
fat and very little calories.

When ordering a salad. Ask for "Low-fat" or "no-fat" dressing, standard
dressing is usually loaded with fat.

Try to eat white meat (seafood, baked chicken,and turkey) instead of red
meat (beef) .

Avoid Chips, Peanuts, Coconut and Buttered Popcorn, they are loaded with fat!
Go for Pretzels, Plain Popcorn are much better snacks. Chewing gum is a great
way to keep your mouth busy.

A good habit is to take a short break at work once each hour take a small
walk to get a glass of water. This mini break will even improve your work
